Next week I’ll be jet setting out again, only 7 weeks after returning home from a two week trip around China I’ll be heading on a month trip in and around the United States and Canada. I’m really looking forward to the trip as Alaska and Canada boast some of the most picturesque vistas in the world. So I’ll be looking forward to taking full advantage of this fact and take some awesome shots. I’ll be away from the 19th of June until the 18th of July.
I recently bought a small portable drone that I was hoping to take with me to help me with this endeavour, and also with my wedding photography but also it hasn’t quite arrived yet… oh well 🙂
US and Canada Trip Itinerary
As a result of this trip I hope to have a vast collection of astonishing scenes ready for you when I return late July. I’ve done my research and I’ll be looking to emulate some of the following scenes taken by other photographers.
First stop is Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, is in the south-central part of the state on the Cook Inlet. It’s known for its cultural sites, including the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which displays traditional crafts, stages dances and presents replicas of dwellings from the area’s indigenous groups. The city is also a gateway to nearby mountains (including the Chugach, Kenai and Talkeetna) and vast wilderness.
Denali National Park
Then I’m are heading up to Denali National Park, home to North America’s highest mountain, Mt. McKinley, towering over 20,300 feet tall. The 6 million acre National Park will also give you one of your best opportunities to see Alaska’s wildlife such as grizzly bear, moose, wolves, Dall sheep and caribou.
Then I’m heading on a cruise on the Grand Princess from Princess Cruises down the Alaskan and Canadian coastline to see some glaciers and hopefully wildlife.
Finally, on the way home I will be spending 5 days on the big island of Hawaii and 2 days on Oahu, the home of Waikiki and Honolulu. I have been to Hawaii before so I hope to put my experience of the place to good use to take better photos than what I did in the past.
So a huge variety of locations and scenes to photograph on this US and Canada Trip, so I’m really looking forward to what I can create!
