Qufu is a city in the south-west of Shandong province, China. I visited her while on a teacher’s tour of China to visit and learn how Chinese children learn. Integral to this understanding was the teachings of Confucius.
Qufu is the hometown of Confucius, who is traditionally believed to have been born at nearby Mount Ni. The three most famous cultural sites of the city, collectively known as San Kong (三孔), i.e. “The Three Confucian [sites]”, are the Temple of Confucius , the Cemetery of Confucius , and the Kong Family Mansion. We were to visit all three sites during our stay, but unfortunately ran out of time and could not visit the cemetery.
The photos in this gallery of Qufu however are not any of these famous places, but rather rather mundane sights around the city.
