One of the images I’ve uploaded onto the National Geographic’s Your Shot has recently been ‘favourited’ by a National Geographic editor, Daniel Westergren. The National Geaographic Your Shot program is an online image sharing platform where professional photographers such as myself can upload images in a bid to be published in one of the upcoming National Geographic publications.
The image in question is an image I shot on the island of Miyajima, Japan within the world heritage listed Itsukushima shrine when I visited back in 2012. This same image has also won plaudits in the South Australian AIPP awards in the travel category having won a silver award in 2012
Other National Geographic Plaudits
This isn’t the only time when I’ve been singled out on the National Geographic website, one of my most successful images of all time, having won a gold award while I was a student in the 2010 edition of the National AIPP awards in the Science category has been awarded a ‘editor’s favorite’ award no less than 3 times on the website. Which I have blogged about in the past on my wedding photography website SvenStudios.com.
